Crafts do not grow in isolation. They are basically in the service of the society. Society's culture can be measured from the arts and crafts it lived with. Artists and craftsmen in such society exist as an integral part of it and crave to achieve excellence and reach to perfection in their work.

Like Sawantwadi crafts, Bidriware is another well-appreciated craft of this state. Bidri ware is famous ancient craft of Aurangabad. It takes lots of skills and time in preparation. Bidriware made from combination of zinc and copper. These are used as raw material. It also employs the intricate worksmanship of pure silver, either brocaded, overlaid or inlaid on the metal surface. In the beginning, Bidri ware items were used as hookahs or paan daans, but now they are more often sold as souvenirs.
